WAMUGUNDA: Counties can be pilots of the Big 4 agenda

Social security issues are essential to a comfortable life to which all citizens of any civilized society are entitled.

What I do know is that the organization and management of everything that goes on should be the duty of any responsible government.

This means that politicians, men and women, and the women and men they nominate to get things moving

That being said, we all understand that government leaders must take steps that must to be supported by the performers and with whom we, the citizens, must accompany us unless they harm our existence. It is therefore comforting and uplifting to hear leaders talk about universal health care, housing, food security, and so on.

This would help a lot, of course, if in all these areas public participation was more important. [19659004] Last Tuesday, the Daily Nation sought the advice of experts and practitioners on how universal health care can be achieved.

What caught my attention was the testimony of one of our governors.

It's not so much about the governor himself – with whom I've interacted in the past. It was about the importance of what he said about health care.

The man in question is Governor Kivutha Kibwana who explained how Makueni had launched a health care system.

According to what he said in this testimony, it seems that they are going somewhere and if they can add the renewed NHIF campaign, they will have reached some level of health care system effective and hopefully effective. As for Makueni, I've also seen elsewhere information on something else that says people led by their governor have started an industry.

This industry was founded to process a locally available resource that had previously been left to the management of brokers.

Here we are talking about the mango that is apparently abundant there. This industry is now processing mango pulp for sale. The county collects mangoes from farmers and pays them a better price than the brokers previously paid. They then process the juice for the market.

I have no evidence of what is happening in other counties but, in the case of Makueni, we certainly have a demonstration of the fact that, if they are headed in the # In the interest of Kenyans, counties can actually be effective drivers of the Big Four program for Kenya.

The other thing is that if something works in one county, the others do not have to reinvent the wheel. Why do not they compare notes and do not realize what is happening and where does this model follow?
