Dallas Keuchel is officially on the verge of debuting with the Braves. According to David O'Brien Athletics, it was expected that Keuchel made two starts in the minor league and a third was a possibility if it was deemed necessary. Now, while Sean Newcomb is hit in the head by a torrid line, there is a good chance Keuchel will take his place next time.
Keuchel was not undecided as he was for Single-A Rome. He gave 11 hits, but limited the Mobile BayBears to 3 points in his debut with Mississippi. Not a line of sexy statistics, but no reason to worry. Keuchel looks prepared for his season start and it may be time for him to return to the mound.
The Braves are on a tear since the call of Austin Riley and are even hotter after Keuchel's signing. Considering that they already have the second best performance of the National League with Folty and Gausman in trouble, Keuchel should give them a huge boost.
