The Atlanta Braves had a good start on Friday night with a 7-2 win over the Miami Marlins. The match was not uneventful, as it was the first encounter between the Braves and Marlins pitcher Jose Ureña since he hit Ronald Acuña Jr. last August.
Kevin Gausman sent a message to the second inning by throwing a fastball at 97 mph behind Ureña and was immediately ejected from the match. Touki Toussaint came in and filled the gap to ensure victory.
Here's what the guys had to say after the game.
Josh Donaldson
Brian Snitker
Kevin Gausman
Crew Chief Jeff Nelson: "He was sent off for intentionally throwing the batter."
When asked if his background was part of the decision: "I will refuse to answer this question"
Warnings were not issued before the first launch, but only after Gausman was ejected.#Braves @ 680TheFan
