When Netflix dropped Kevin Hart’s last stand-up special, Zero F ** ks given, there has been a debate on the internet as to whether he is still funny.
Her routine spanned cancellation culture, fame, and family life, but for some viewers it didn’t hit the right marks. One of Hart’s details of his teenage daughter rubbed some people the wrong way, and he ended up tackling it on social media – twice.
What Kevin Hart said about his daughter
Filmed in the living room of Hart’s house, Zero F ** ks given presented a small, masked audience for the hour-long set. The comic raised his kids a few times during the performance, and at one point he brought up his daughter’s dating habits.
Hart spoke of the fickle nature of 15-year-old Heaven and called her a “crazy boy.” Describing how she crushed three different boys in the span of a week, Hart told the audience by the third – Tim – something clicked in her mind.
“Immediately in my mind I said, ‘My daughter is a hoe.’ This is hoe sh * t. Hoe activity right in front of my face, ”he joked.
Hart added that he spoke with a “hoe” from his past to check on his habits and concluded that his daughter was on the way. But then he said that after seeing the three guys he could understand why she was having trouble choosing between them.
The audience ate it and laughed. For various reasons, some on social media did not.

Hart slammed in Clubhouse chat
Clubhouse, the invitation-only social media app, became a hub when Hart appeared in a chat room titled “Is Kevin Hart Funny” to talk about his latest special. He promoted the Netflix gig, gave business tips, and interacted with those in the app.
Some commentators have expressed displeasure at what he said about his daughter and said he degrades women, a sexist, and feeds negative stereotypes about black women. When he made comments about black people demolishing theirs, he was accused of making gas.
The conversation then spread to Twitter on Saturday (November 28) where fans continue to be divided and some say Hart has been dismissive of women on the app.
Hart reiterated his position on Instagram
Shortly after the Clubhouse session, Hart posted a video to Instagram pointing out that the jokes about his daughter were all comedy and that he wasn’t criticizing the women in the chat. “Stop with the false narrative,” he said. “If you were at the Clubhouse and participated in the conversation, they weren’t about black women.”
Hart said his jokes were part of creativity. He added that he was at the Clubhouse promoting his work and having a conversation around him since the pandemic has impeded traditional methods of marketing. He wants the accusations of misogyny to stop and prefers to air the special stream on Netflix. “We have to stop.”
Supporters for Hart believe some viewers are overly sensitive to his comedic content, and there is a segment of the audience who thinks Hart doesn’t take criticism well. Either way, he urges people to broadcast Zero F ** ks given on Netflix to form their own opinions, whether he agrees or not.
