Kevin hartHis name’s personal appearance in a mass public conversation about his new Netflix special has received all types of interpretations – but the one Kevin himself says isn’t true is that the discussion was in no way way on black women or demeaning them.
The comedian took to Instagram to respond to the scrutiny and backlash he received for joining a Clubhouse live chat room earlier this week titled “Is Kevin Hart Funny ??” and interact with dozens of real people on the subject.
The reason the group was created in the first place is because of Kevin’s new comedy special, “Zero F *** s Given”, in which at one point he jokes about his 15-year-old daughter, saying that ‘he already sees “hoe activity” from her.
Of course, Kevin calling his daughter a hoe – even jokingly – raised his eyebrows, and the folks at Clubhouse decided to have an honest dialogue about whether he was consciously promoting the degradation of women. black by evoking a trope about none other than her own child, who is still a minor.
Welcome, Kevin caught wind of the Clubhouse chat room and joined in on himself – and part of that conversation was captured by a third party and posted online. Seems like this thing lasted at least 15 minutes, if not longer, and there’s a lot of voices in the room … sometimes all of them are talking to each other at once or over each other at different times.
There were a lot of topics covered, but one that was revisited over and over again – and then dissected on Twitter as well – was the idea that male Kevin fans tend to shut down, write off, and silence them. black women who criticize something about Kevin. … which they believe was part of a toxic culture that he perpetuates.
Fast forward to Kevin’s response … and it’s pretty clear that he saw it as a constructive conversation with real people who had different views on him and his comedy. He insists the account that the whole Clubhouse talk was aimed at black women or meant to confront him with black women is completely wrong.
I had an amazing conversation in the Clubhouse app today … Real chats with real people … that’s the direction social media is going to take now. Pretty dope

You can listen to the conversation for yourself and decide what, but it seems Kevin enjoyed talking about it with people … but just didn’t appreciate the analysis that followed – much of which was critical of. him and his supporters.
BTW, Kevin also explains why he participated in the Clubhouse chat to begin with, and says the pandemic has forced his hand into getting creative in marketing and promotion. We all evolve, don’t we?
