Ross Chastain earned his first career win in the Gander Truck Series on Friday night at Kansas Speedway.
Chastain, driving the No. 45 Chevrolet for Niece Motorsports, inherited Stewart Friesen's lead with three laps to go when Friesen ran out of gas.
The victory comes at the beginning of Chastain's 66th series of trucks. It's his second national series win after his victory with Chip Ganassi Racing in the Xfinity series last year. This victory is the first for Niece Motorsports in 90 starts.
After his victory with Ganassi, Chastain was announced as a full-time team driver in Xfinity in 2019. But after the main sponsor, DC Solar, was attacked by the FBI in mid-December, CGR has terminated its Xfinity program in January due to shortage. of sponsorship.
Chastain returned to JD Motorsports with a contract of three races with Kaulig Racing. He is part-time for Niece Motorsports in the heavyweight series and as a full-time rider in Coupe with Premium Motorsports.

The Friday night race was Chastain's 28th consecutive national series.

Ben Rhodes, Todd Gilliland, Austin Hill and Brandon Jones completed the top five.
Friesen, who led 87 laps, finished 15th. At the last pit stop in Friesen, he left his stand with only two new tires, unaware that it was a stop with four tires, which also reduced fuel consumption.
Grant Enfinger led 47 laps, but finished seventh after being in contact with Brett Moffitt.
