Kevin Hunter once accused of poisoning Wendy Williams

Police were arrested by Wendy Williams and Kevin Hunter's home in New Jersey in January after receiving anonymous reports that Hunter poisoned his now-separated wife, according to a new report.

The call was passed by someone who would have worked for the Williams production company, reported TMZ. The appellant stated that Hunter, who was still an executive producer in "The Wendy Williams Show" at the time, had leaked something harmful to the host of the talk show and wanted the authorities to monitor her.

Two policemen from the Livingston Police Department were reportedly arrested at the former couple's home and reportedly being greeted by Hunter, who was skeptical about letting them in because Williams was recovering from an illness. The officers explained that they were forced to speak to Williams because of the information they had received. Hunter finally agreed, and both officers found Williams lying in bed with "the blanket covering the back of his neck," TMZ reported.

One of the officers asked Hunter to leave the room so he could talk to Williams alone, but Hunter would not move, saying he wanted to stay with him. Williams told the police that she was recovering from a broken shoulder and denied truthful information about the informer's complaint, by TMZ.

Williams filed for divorce from Hunter earlier this month, after nearly 23 years of marriage. Hunter has since been ousted from The Wendy Williams Show as executive producer and as a manager.

Putting a brave face, Williams spent the Easter weekend with his teenage son, Kevin Hunter Jr., then had lunch at the golf club with a man on Easter Sunday, although she refused to reveal her identity.

A representative from Williams could not be reached for comment.
