Kevin Smith Reacts To Marvel Captain Easter Egg

See you soon in 2018, Marvel icon Stan Lee made cameos in all of Marvel Studios' MCU movies. for Captain Marvel, Lee made a cameo appearance in 1995. In a brief scene on a train, Brie Larson's Danvers Carol encountered Lee as he was reading a film script. The script in question was MallratsKevin Smith's second film of director; which also featured Lee in a cameo appearance.

Via Heroic Hollywood, Smith shared his appreciation for the mention in a post on his Instagram account. He also asked whether his MCU counterpart survived Thanos' actions at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

Smith's association with Marvel goes back to 1998, when he wrote the Marvel Knights Daredevil series. Smith's "Guardian Devil" storyline successfully relaunched that story, and eventually led to his cameo appearance in the Daredevil movie. Smith went on to write to Spider-Man and Black Cat miniseries that was plagued by delays.

More recently, Smith signed a new product Howard the Duck animated series for Hulu. Howard the Duck was one of Marvel's biggest box office bombs decades before the MCU. Regardless, Smith has invited one of the movie's stars, Lea Thompson, to take a role on the new show.
