Another important step in Keyontae johnsonrecovery – the Univ. Florida basketball star just made the Gator Chomp out of his hospital bed !!
It’s been almost a week since Johnson collapsed on the field in a game against Florida State. He was hospitalized in Tallahassee and eventually returned to UF Hospital in Gainesville.
Johnson was placed in a medically induced coma after the incident – but has since woken up and made huge progress in healing.
You can see in the new video … Johnson talks, smiles and waves his arms (hence the “Chomp”). It’s all good to see.
“First of all, I would like to thank God,” Johnson says.
“I know you have all sent your prayers in the past few weeks and I and my parents are very grateful for all the prayers that have been given.”
“To all the doctors and medical staff at Tallahassee Memorial and UF Shands, I just want to say thank you for all the support you have given me.
“To my family of Gator Nation and UF athletes, I just want to thank you for all the prayers you have given me.
It’s great to see – and I hope he continues to improve … and maybe even get back on the pitch soon.
Johnson is one of the nation’s top college basketball players and a legitimate NBA prospect.
