KFC has announced that it will test a new combination of fried chicken and frozen donuts from September 16 – an initiative as funky as it is crazy.
Guests have two options: a chicken and donut meal for $ 5.49, including chicken fillets or bone-in chicken and a donut; or a chicken sandwich for $ 5.99, with a fried chicken patty between two donut rolls – the much more exciting option.
And if you just want the donut? You can add one at each meal for one dollar.
To be honest, the combination of salty and sweet is a bit seductive. It's basically like chicken and waffles, right? And this donut burger is already a staple at national fairs across the country.
Maybe KFC is on something.
Or maybe they simply try to take advantage of the craze for chicken sandwiches. Who is to say?
Whatever the case may be, new items will only be available for a limited time, although KFC has not specified when. And they are not yet available nationally – only in Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia and Pittsburgh.
Notably, however, they are not in Kentucky. Hmmmm.
If you like the strange combinations of fried chicken sandwiches, KFC has also created a Cheetos chicken sandwich during the summer. So, it may not be the last of the chicken sandwich game we see at KFC.
