The Bears have made a few small moves up to now, but give themselves more space to work.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Bears created $ 11 million room now by converting $ 13 million of Khalil Mack's base salary and alignment bonus into a signing bonus.
As for Mack, it's money he earned anyway, it's an accounting trick that gives the team some flexibility in accounting.
The Bears are about to lose Adrian Amos safety. They added cornerback Buster Skrine and running back Mike Davis until now.
It remains to be seen whether they will turn the new space into more dedications, but they at least have the room.
