Kid Rock paid tribute to Eddie Money on Friday night (September 13th) in a place that had become an adoptive home for the late singer.
Rock and his band Twisted Brown Trucker played a version of "Shakin's", a hit song dating back to 1982 No controlduring their concert at Detroit's DTE Energy Music Theater, formerly known as Pine Knob. The group accompanied his performance of a video photo on the screen of Money and Legend 1949-2019.
"I'm sure you've heard that Eddie Money has died today," Rock told the crowd. "Not only did Detroit look like a second home, but I'm sure many of you know that Pine Knob was absolutely his home and he opened this place every summer for decades, so we wanted to sing one tonight. and pay tribute to him, so rock on Eddie. "
Rock finished the song by asking the crowd to "put a hand in the air for Eddie Money, God bless you, Eddie, Rock on!"
The silver, who died Friday after battling advanced esophageal cancer, had already performed at the amphitheater 38 times over his career, according to 313 Presents, who operates the site. For the past 28 years, he has performed an annual Memorial Day weekend, often as the first part of the summer season.

Rock, who has himself participated in more than 30 live concerts, acknowledged Money's legacy in this release in a statement released before Friday's concert. Tom Wilson, acting president of 313 Presents, described the venue's relationship with Money as "a marriage of convenience that has become a kind of love party between him and us and him and the crowd."
