Liquid bit and BumbleBear Games unveiled this week that Killer Queen Black will be released on both PC and Nintendo Switch on October 11th. The game has been featured at conventions and other events for a year and a half as we waited for a confirmed date for the original systems. We now have one waiting patiently to know when the Xbox One and PS4 versions will arrive. You can find out more about Killer Queen Black below and see the new trailer because the arcade hit will come home in a month.
Put yourself in a team and form a team of four – a queen, three workers – and fight for the hive. Triumph in three different ways: economic, military and snail. Score an economic victory by picking up scattered berries on the level and bringing them back to the base. Earn military victories by defeating the opposing queen three times. Make the snails win just under the other team's nose by slowly bringing them home. The first to three victories came out victorious.
Whoa whoa whoa. Queens? Workers? SNAIL? If the Killer Queen jargon is overwhelming, start with Tutorial mode, which slowly introduces mechanics and adds AI opponents as it progresses. Then take these new skills in Quickplay or Classified. Quickplay reproduces the impression of approaching an arcade cabinet: immediate access to a game, no rank, and artificial intelligence fills the gaps if there is no complete match available.
The ranked game is skill based and requires 8 human players. After 10 placement matches, players are placed in a league (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Obsidian) at the height of their talents. Each league has a new icon that allows other players to measure each other's skills at a glance. Climb the ranks and reach the heights of various rankings, including friends, leagues and the 100 best in the world.
