So yeah, I realize there are more important things going on right now, but: remember how Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were supposed to divorce? Remember that series of reports from Jan. 5 claiming Kim is “over” and “Kanye knows she’s done” and that the official split is “imminent”? But then… nothing? Maybe you didn’t really stop to consider the informational drought that followed, but now that you did, you’d assume that the attempted siege of the U.S. Capitol the next day had simply drowned out the news cycle of Kimye. Well, according to “Page Six,” there is another possible reason for radio silence – namely, that the details of the divorce will (allegedly) drive the final season of keeping up with the Kardashians.

In a new “exclusive”, the tabloid column reports that “the disintegration of Kim and Kanye’s marriage will feature heavily” in the story of season 21. The couple are said to be negotiating a settlement and dividing their assets, but in keeping details under wraps until a dramatic TV reveal. A source close to Kanye reportedly said Us weekly that he is “less than thrilled” with this approach and that he did not participate in the “emotional final episode”.

Meanwhile, an alleged insider told “Page Six”: “The Kardashians have plans to come out on a big note. They filmed Kim discussing her marriage issues. But everyone involved is on a nondisclosure agreement, as the finale won’t air until later in 2021. “

As to the reasons for the split, “Page Six” (who first reported the news) initially attributed the couple’s supposed marital strain to Kanye’s presidential candidacy and a rift that deepened after he broadcast deeply personal details of their relationship at gatherings and online. Publicly, Kim asked for “compassion and empathy” as Kanye dealt with his bipolar disorder; privately, the pair are said to have drifted apart further. Earlier this month, sources from “Page Six” said Kanye was “completely above the whole family” and the reality TV lifestyle. I can’t imagine why!
