Kim kardashian‘s just hit a speed bump as she tries to score “SKKN” for her new beauty line… it looks like there is another brand claiming that she has already locked the name.
Lawyers for Beauty Concepts LLC sent a cease and desist letter to KK’s legal team, claiming since July 2017 that it provides salon and skin care services under its brand SKKN +, owned by Cyndie Lunsford.
In the letter, obtained by TMZ, Beauty Concepts says it also operates a website and social media handles using the same capital letters. Additionally, Beauty Concepts says it filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office in March to register the SKKN + logo.
For what it’s worth … Kim had registered the “SKKN BY KIM” trademark even before March, but BC is also having a problem with the “SKKN” filing.

The company claims to have invested a lot of time, effort and money to develop and market its SKKN + services over the past 3 years, and Kim’s game of the same name is said to be confusing in the market. These are magic words, because it is the basis on which the Patent and Trademark Office would reject an application.
Kim’s lawyer, Michael G. Rhodes, says: “We certainly appreciate and support small businesses, and our hat goes to Ms Lunsford. But the issue is trademark law and we haven’t done anything that deserves legal action on her part. . “
He continues: “We are disappointed that she chose to run to the media knowing that we are planning an appeal for tomorrow, requested by her lawyer. So while we do not agree with the letter, we hope we can work things out once both sides talk.
In the legal letter, Beauty Concepts says that Kim’s trademark application for “SKKN” is a scam of their innovative nickname and the mere addition of “By Kim” does little to differentiate brands.
Additionally, Beauty Concepts claims to have used the name SKKN + for 3 years before Kim’s company registered its trademark.
As we reported … in addition to the trademark filing, the social media IDs SKKN.com and @SKKN were all locked by Kim’s team in December 2020 … indicating that this had been in the works for some time. .
Beauty Concepts wants Kim K’s business to back down… or else.
