NORWICH, Vt. (AP) – A Vermont flour company is voluntarily recalling some sacks of flour because of possible E. coli contamination.

The US Food and Drug Administration posted on its website a statement by King Arthur Flour stating that the company was recalling more than 14,000 cases of unbleached all-purpose 5-pound flour. The company announced Thursday that no illness has been reported so far.

The flour was distributed by retailers and distributors across the country. The recall does not include products sold on the King Arthur Flour website, the Baker catalog, or the Baker store in Norwich, Vermont. The recall involves products with six lot codes and three reference dates.

  • BEST USED FOR 12/07/19 LOT: L18A07C
  • BEST USED BY 12/08/19 LOTS: L18A08A, L18A08B
  • BEST USED BY 14/12/19 LOTS: L18A14A, L18A14B, L18A14C

The company claims to have been informed by ADM Milling that some wheat used for flour manufacturing was linked to a continuing outbreak of E. coli infections.
