Kirk Cameron has struck the New Years Eve by continuing to defy a stay-at-home order issued in Southern California.
The 50-year-old former “Growing Pains” has been criticized several times over the past month for hosting rallies despite closures in the state. Two Christmas carol events Cameron helped organize last month featured dozens of pickers standing up close and without masks.
Cameron posted footage of a third event on Thursday evening, which was reportedly referred to as a “sunset song and prayer event” held at Point Mugu National Park in Ventura County.
Cameron shared a 4-minute prayer on his social media pages for the event, in which supporters joined him in a prayer “for the nation.”

Kirk Cameron is not worried about COVID-19 despite extended home orders in Southern California. The actor hosted a New Years Eve prayer event that again featured pickers filmed without masks.

While Cameron reportedly said masks were “welcome” at the event, footage does not show the actor or several people around him wearing protective gear.
“Is it just beautiful? Could we have asked God for a nicer painting? And just think, God paints with water and light to do that. Isn’t that amazing? I’m so glad you all came here, ”Cameron says in the clip.
Cameron hinted that he helped organize the event, telling the crowd, “We were looking for places all along the coast. We weren’t sure where to go. We landed on this just three or four hours ago. to be just perfect. “
On Tuesday, the California Secretary of Health announced that regional home support orders would be extended in southern California and the San Joaquin Valley as the state faces a sustained outbreak of coronavirus.

Cameron and his supporters faced a number of complaints on social media on Friday.
“I guess he’s still going through growing pains,” one commenter wrote below his Instagram video.
“He’s nuts. Sad,” said another.
“Spread the joy of covides once again,” commented a third person accompanied by a thumbs down emoji.
“Please stop!” another pleaded.
However, some Cameron supporters shared their thanks for the actor’s participation in the prayer event. One person wrote on Instagram that it was “exactly what I needed to hear”.

Another Instagram user thanked Cameron for “bringing us hope and faith and not fear this year.”

Last week, Cameron “Growing Pains” co-star Jeremy Miller slammed the maskless Christmas carols that took place in December.
“While I will always love my brother Kirk, I could not disagree more that he is hosting these maskless events at a time when safety and concern for others is a top priority,” Miller, who played Cameron’s character brother on the beloved sitcom, Page Six told.
Cameron defended the “peaceful” protests in a virtual appearance on “Fox News @ Night”.
