Five days after postponing a show because member Paul Stanley had tested positive for the coronavirus, the KISS group announced that Gene Simmons also has COVID. As a result, they’re rescheduling four more dates in the Midwest.
“While Paul Stanley recently tweeted that he had recovered from COVID, Gene Simmons has now tested positive and has mild symptoms,” the Rockers’ official Twitter account read. “The band and team will stay home and self-isolate for the next 10 days and medics have said the tour should be able to resume on September 9 at the Five Point Amphitheater in Irvine, Calif.” Ticket holders will be contacted, according to the announcement.
Simmons, who initially tested negative after Stanley fell ill, told TMZ on Friday that everyone on the band’s current End of the Road tour had been tested after news of their bandmate was heard. Everyone had already been vaccinated.
Stanley said in his own statement on August 30 that although his symptoms were “mild”, the virus “kicked my ass.”
This month, Simmons spoke to Yahoo Entertainment about his take on masks and vaccines.
