While Simmons and his wife, model actor Shannon Tweed, bought the property in 1987, it hasn’t always been so spectacular, but it has a history rich in history. The house that was originally on site was a 3,500 square foot timber farmhouse. “We flattened it out and brought in tons of dirt, spent almost $ 11 million to beautify the place,” Simmons says.

That said, the couple are still considering leaving LA for a quieter lifestyle and escaping celebrity lists and sightseeing buses. “We’ve always loved Los Angeles, but you have to deal with fires every year, every once in a while the ground shakes and those sightseeing buses.
