Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to miss several games with an ankle injury he sustained in the third quarter of the team’s loss to the Giants, meaning KJ Hamler should play a bigger role off in the coming weeks.

The injury came five times after Hamler gave up what would have been a 50 yard touchdown pass from Teddy Bridgewater and Hamler had to get over the feeling that Jeudy’s injury wouldn’t have happened if he had rolled in that ball .

“It’s fucked up that Jerry has to go through this right now, and at the time I was sort of putting his wound on me,” Hamler said, via Kyle Newman of the Denver Post. “Because if I had caught that touchdown, it probably never would have happened.”

Hamler said he “told one of the assistants to throw 100 balls deep over my shoulder” after returning to Denver to make sure falls were not a problem at the to come up. It won’t change what happened with Jeudy, but it would make an attack more effective while he was away and after he returned.
