Klay Thompson made a bad fall in Game 6, limping in the tunnel, then turning to return to the ground and equaling his free throws, was about as heroic as basketball. The guard of the same warriors said head coach Steve Kerr he would be back after two minutes of rest, only to leave the arena on crutches.

We now know that he did all this on a freshly torn ACL.

Another NBA Finals match brings another dose of indescribable new injury to a key player in the Warriors. Thompson becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. The healing of an ACL tear can last from six months to a year.
