Kodak Black promises to donate $ 1million to charity if Trump forgives him

Kodak Black’s legal issues can be difficult to disentangle. But he is trying to quickly resolve his most urgent case: the federal arms charge which currently puts him in jail. Now the rapper is reaching out to Donald Trump in hopes the president can grant him a pardon, freeing Kodak as he steps down.

Kodak has pledged to donate $ 1 million to charity in his first year as a free man, if he is pardoned. The rapper tweeted it in his signature capitalized style, continuing a push to be released by the lame duck president.

“If the president releases them, I will spend $ 1 million on charity in the first year of my absence. That’s on everything,” he wrote on Friday.

Trump has cast a wide net with his presidential pardons, from posthumous and symbolic pardons from boxer Jack Johnson and suffragist Susan B. Anthony, to pardons from friends and advisers like Roger Stone and Michael Flynn.

Some of those pardons caused quite a stir earlier in his presidency. Trump pardoned infamous Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio before he was convicted of his crimes and pardoned three separate war criminals convicted of murdering civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Kodak’s legal team has reportedly contacted Trump in hopes of having the rapper’s sentence commuted in September. In a petition obtained by TMZ, they argued that Kodak was being held in a facility that was more stringent than his crimes required, and added that they found his sentence particularly harsh.
