The game will be released on PS4, Switch, Steam
KOEI Tecmo Games announced on Saturday during its presentation livestream at the Tokyo Game Show 2021 that it is developing Atelier no Sophie 2: Fushigi na Yume no Renkinjutsushi (Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream), a title celebrating the 25th anniversary of Gust‘s Workshop series of games. The game will be launched for Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via To smoke February 24 (February 25 To smoke).
KOEI Tecmo America and KOEI Tecmo Europe will release the game for the same systems on February 25. the company describes the game:
Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream continues the story of the many adventures of Sophie and Plachta. After leaving Kirchen Bell, Sophie’s hometown, the couple discover a huge tree identical to the one Plachta had seen in a dream, and as they get closer, a mysterious vortex draws them inside. Sophie wakes up alone in a curious new world called Erde Wiege, and it doesn’t take long before she hears about an alchemist named Plachta who lives on the outskirts of town.
Surprisingly, when Sophie arrives at the workshop, she meets a young alchemy enthusiast named Plachta, and even though the alchemist has the same name as her friend, she does not recognize Sophie. What other surprises await Sophie on this trip? As the adventure continues, Sophie meets the budding alchemist, Ramizel Erlenmeyer, who readily agrees to help her when needed. The narrative unfolds elegantly with a charming new visual style that combines the art of the Mysterious sub-series with the high-quality graphics and animation featured in Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy 2021.
A premium box set in Japan will include a download code for a costume, a CD with “extra tracks”, a visual book and a tapestry poster. A special collector’s box will include two transparent folders, a crystal paperweight, a metal key ring and a tapestry poster.
Those who have backup data of various Workshop Games will also be able to transfer save data to the new game to get special costumes.
Yuka aisaka returns to play Sophie Neuenmuller in the game, and Yuka iguchi returns to play Plachta. Rie takahashi voice Ramizel Erlenmeyer.
The game is the first work of the franchise’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
KOEI Tecmo America is liberated Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book in June 2016 on PS4 and Playstation Vita. The game delivered for PS4, Playstation 3, and PS Vita in November 2015 in Japan.
The franchise’s most recent console game is Atelier Ryza 2: The Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy, launched in Japan on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and Nintendo Switch on December 3. The game launched on PC via To smoke January 26. The game was released in North America on January 26 for PS4, Switch, PC via To smoke, and digitally for PS5. The game launched in Europe on January 29.
Hong Kong-based publisher Boltrend Games has released the English version of SMALL Play art and Gust‘s Online Workshop: Alchemist of Bressisle (Online workshop ~ Bressisle no Renkinjutsushi ~) smartphone game on July 8. The game launched in Japan in October 2018.
