Konami apologizes for eFootball 2022, update coming in October

Konami Digital Entertainment has released a statement regarding the just came out and often laughed at eFootball 2022, apologizing for the deplorable state of the delivered soccer simulation game and confirming that the development team is preparing an update for release later this month.

The game’s official Twitter account shared the statement, which acknowledged that the team had received many comments about the game’s rather broken condition. Konami said it “acknowledges[s] that there have been reports of issues that users have encountered with cutscenes, facial expressions, player movements, and ball behavior. An update is planned for this month that will attempt to improve the quality of the game, as well as implement bug fixes.

“We will do our utmost to satisfy as many users as possible, and look forward to your continued support from eFootball 2022“, concludes the press release.

The apology comes shortly after the game launched on September 29 on mobile devices, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / S. It was launched in a very rough condition. So rude, in fact, that many disappointed fans expressed their frustrations, making eFootball 2022 Steam’s most hated game.

eFootball 2022 is a free soccer game (with loot boxes!) developed and published by Konami. It’s part of the publisher’s long history, once well regarded Pro Evolution Soccer series, which was renamed earlier this year.
