On his latest podcast, Konnan said he wanted to book Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan) in AAA and he asked Tony Khan if Danielson signed with AEW.
Konnan said, “I’ll tell you because I asked Tony Khan. The only reason I asked him was because I wanted to use Bryan Danielson in AAA. I was like, ‘hey man, did you sign Bryan Danielson?’ He said “you know I can’t tell you that” and then I looked at him and I said “brother if that **** shows up in Chicago this place is going to melt” and he just smiled so I thinks he could have, but he didn’t tell me.
While there has been no confirmation from AEW or Danielson, it certainly looks like he signed. As previously reported, the folks in WWE think he’s headed for AEW. WWE has sent a memo advising the developers of the WWE 2K22 game that it should not be included in the game.
The belief is that Bryan would be under a contract similar to Jon Moxley’s which would also allow him to wrestle for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
It’s unclear when he could debut for AEW, but if CM Punk debuts at any of the shows in Chicago, it would make sense to suspend Danielson until the show in New York.
