NEW YORK (CNN) – Salad icing. Yes it is one thing.
Instead of just asking the kids to eat salad dressing – or claiming that the ancestral condiment bears the marks of a staple for dessert – Kraft Heinz introduced "Glaze Salad", with the word invoking a tooth sweet, just on the label.
But here is the problem: it is only a thin tube of ranch dressing, re-labeled so that parents can encourage children to eat their vegetables.
"Children will eat anything with icing, right?" the company says in a press release. "It's a match for the happiness of dinner."
That's true, but you have to ask yourself: what about kids who have tasted the ranch vinaigrette? Are not they going to blow up the blanket quickly?
Sometimes parenting means bending the truth. That's why we've designed the limited edition Kraft salad icing, a simple way to get your kids to eat their vegetables.

It is also worth noting that ranch dressing is not really the healthiest option for kids – or adults. Only 2 tablespoons The Kraft version contains 110 calories, 11 grams of fat and 290 milligrams of sodium. The same amount of Betty Crocker vanilla icing contains more calories – 140 – but only 5 grams of fat and 70 milligrams of sodium.
