Fortnite is no stranger to crossovers with other franchises, and the next one has already – as it often is – already disclosed. With Season 5 underway, it looks like a character from a major PlayStation franchise will be showing his face in the Battle Royale game in the near future: God of War’s Kratos. If a leak is to be believed, Kratos will get a Fortnite skin, although exactly when it will arrive and how you will get it – or even its very existence – have yet to be confirmed.
Popular Fortnite leaker HypeX tweeted an image of Kratos, saying he will be added to the game “soon”. This has yet to be confirmed by Epic Games, but HypeX has a proven track record of early release of credible information about Fortnite. It’s unclear how long the skin will be released or if it could be a PS4 and PS5 exclusive in some way. Season 5 will run for the next two months and more.
More Hunters are expected to be added as Season 5 progresses, so Kratos could be added as part of a new set of characters at any point in the season. It will likely be available in the Item Shop for around $ 20 (with back bling and other cosmetics included). This has been the price of other recent characters such as Ghost Rider, Venom, and Daredevil, although it’s worth noting that these relate to last season’s theme and were not part of the IP of a specific platform.
Sony, the owner of the God of War franchise, invested $ 250 million for a minority stake in Epic Games earlier this year, according to a report from GamesBeat. Sony’s investment will allow the two to “create unique experiences for consumers and creators,” GamesBeat said.
