The year was rich in twists for Kristaps Porzingis, the Dallas Mavericks forward, who missed all of last season as he recovered from a torn ACL he had suffered in 2017. Parallel to his recovery LCA, Porzingis was also traded in mid-season with the Mavericks, charged with rape in March and is now in a hotter water than justice following an incident in his country, Latvia .

Video evidence surfaced Sunday showing what appears to be a bloody Porzingis tossing Russian curses on a group of men and Latvian authorities. In the video taken in a Latvian bar, Porzingis is clearly dissatisfied with something and his shirt is torn.

Of course, this is not a good idea for Kristaps Porzingis, a newly acquired group, who is now in a difficult situation off the field before playing a single minute for his new team.

Non-conformists are aware of the altercation and are studying the issue according to Vertical Shams Charania.

Although we do not know what triggered the disagreement and who is responsible, it was not wise for Porzingis to put himself in this position. The Russian rowdy with whom he was embarking was apparently annoyed by the fact that he was no longer a member of the New York Knicks.

Let us hope that the authorities can get to the bottom of things and fortunately Porzingis or the other people involved did not make any serious injuries. According to ESPN's Tim MacMahon, the Mavericks believe that Porzingis was caught short and simply defended.

Stay tuned to Def Pen for more details on the situation as they emerge.
