The 30-year-old actress, who stars in the upcoming Hulu movie The happiest season, discussed the topic in an interview with Variety published on Monday 23 November. The film centers around Harper (Mackenzie davis) inviting his girlfriend, Abby (Stewart), to celebrate the holidays at her parents’ house, although Harper’s family doesn’t know she’s a lesbian.
When asked if gay characters should only be portrayed by gay actors, Stewart preceded his response by pointing out that his career has been quite privileged.
“I think about it all the time,” the charlie’s angels star said Variety. “Being someone who had so much access to work, I just lived with such creative abundance.
