Kristen Stewart says it was ‘hard not to feel protective’ about Princess Diana playing the late royal in her upcoming movie Spencer.

Although the 30-year-old actress was young when the Princess of Wales passed away, she told Jimmy Kimmel that it still had an impact on her portrayal of Diana.

When asked what it was like to put yourself in the shoes of “ one of the most beloved figures in the history of the world, ” Kristen explained that while she “ didn’t not grown up ” with her, she feels a connection with the princess, who died in a car accident in Paris in 1997.

The Twilight star opened up to Kimmel to talk about her new holiday movie The Happiest Season, telling Jimmy, who is 23 years her senior, that although she “ didn’t grow up with it … to the same way, ” it still had an impact.
