“When the vaccine first came out, we weren’t included in the long-term care facility rollout, but it’s great this time that we could be a part of it,” Lindholz said. “We have contacted facilities where we already dispense prescriptions or have held flu clinics in the past.”
Kroger did not immediately respond to a request from FOX Business regarding the plans.
While the booster injections have yet to receive the green light from the federal government for wide distribution, some immunocompromised Americans became eligible for a third dose of Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccines earlier this month. The boosters could possibly receive the green light from the health authorities and be made available to the general public by mid-September.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is currently the only vaccine to have received full FDA approval, and only for its first two doses. The companies said they had launched a request for full approval of their booster injection for those 16 and over and expected the request to be completed by the end of the week.
