Kroger “strongly encourages” all customers and employees to wear masks

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Kroger is asking any employee or visitor – vaccinated or not – to wear masks inside stores following a recent increase in cases of the COVID-19 Delta variant.

A spokesperson for Kroger said in a statement that the company’s recommendation mirrors that recently made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. CDC officials on Tuesday recommended that fully vaccinated people wear masks in areas with high COVID transmission.

“In light of the Delta variant and the updated CDC recommendations, we strongly encourage all people, including those who are vaccinated, to wear a mask in our stores and facilities,” said Erin Grant, Director of Business commercial Kroger. “We will continue to uphold all state and local mandates and encourage all Americans to get immunized, including our associates. “

Kroger already requires unvaccinated employees and customers to wear masks.
