Kubica made her car debut Thursday morning before handing it over to teammate George Russell for the afternoon session.
Kubica had 48 laps before the lunch break.
Asked what he had learned during his short time on the cockpit today, Kubica said, "You can tell, it's not like the car is completely shut down. .
"I think there is still something to put on the car, probably not much, but it is certain that some things have been compromised.
"It's not good that I talk about them, as I said before coming here to drive, so I have to focus on that.
"Finally, I have a car, so I hope that next week we can focus on better preparation for the first race because it is close."
Kubica, who spent a good part of the morning running with aerodynamic equipment adapted to the car, had only twelve laps to get an idea.
"It does not look like the fourth day of testing, but rather the first day," he said.
"I had the opportunity for 12 laps to get an idea of the car, which is of course limiting. At least all sorts of things we did – not all, it was not an easy morning.
"I have been here since last Friday, I have never waited so long to do 12-14 laps, that I could drive at my own pace.
"You're just preparing what you can, it was not a good day for the whole team, but finally we got the car and finally the team did a good job building it as quickly as possible. .
"Of course, there are compromises, I think so, but eventually we got the car, so we can focus on our work and look forward to next week."
When asked when he thought the car was a step, he replied: "In a way, it's a step forward." For others, not necessarily.
"The question is whether we have taken a step forward bigger and smaller back, because of regulation, and then we have to balance things out.
