Yesterday, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin had contacted Instagram to express his personal interest in becoming Kurt Angle's opponent for his retirement match at WrestleMania 35.
Although their relationship has seen many ups and downs since its inception, Benjamin and Angle first appeared together at WWE TV towards the end of 2002, when Shelton joined the team at The Greatest Tag Team. "alongside Charlie Haas and their mentor. Under the tutelage of Angle, Benjamin & Haas won their first team championship just one month after their debut. They would then be two champions before the team broke up.
Angle has now responded to Benjamin's challenge with a simple but enthusiastic message: "I'm outgoing!"
