Kyle Busch was almost irritated by everything after the first race of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series Monster Energy Series on Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The 2015 champion entered the playoff tournament as the highest ranked seed but suffered a variety of woes during the race. The first was produced on the 5th lap when he broke loose and slapped the wall. This forced him to take the Toyota Camry (# 18) Joe Gibbs Racing in the pit lane, which cost him two laps.
Busch finally managed to get back into the first lap and was in the top 10 when he came across two underfunded cars driven by Joey Gase and Garrett Smithley. The contact with Smithley pinched the front right of his car and knocked him off the main lap.
Busch finished 19th and, due to the sheer number of points he's racked up in the playoffs in the playoffs, he leaves only his hometown fourth in the standings and 36 more markers than the limit.
However, this was not enough to offer him consolation after the race. That's when the NBC Sports television channel caught up with him.
"It was said that he was going high, I thought he was going to go high, and he went in the middle," said Smithley's Busch. "I thought he was going high and it killed our day.
