Kyle Shanahan wants the 49ers to eliminate the mistakes of the week 1 win

SANTA CLARA – Kyle Shanahan defeated Jimmy Garoppolo after the decisive win, hard and tough on the road, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Shanahan's face was red tomato. Garoppolo apparently shook his head to indicate that he thought he had done nothing wrong. Shanahan raised his eyebrows in disagreement and read Garoppolo's riot act.

Garoppolo had just forced an incomplete pass to a wide covered catcher at third and 12th positions on the 18-yard Bucs line when George Kittle was completely open for a touchdown in the middle of the field. Garoppolo did not see him. Earlier in the game, Garoppolo telegraphed a pitch at the margin, a shot that Bucs cornerback Vernon Hargreaves intercepted and returned for a touchdown.

Garoppolo finally played well enough to beat the Bucs. But his mistakes revealed Shanahan's frustration at the 49ers' poor performance and the challenges they would face if they did not clean up.
