LA brings Ivica Zubac back on a four-year contract

Ivica Zubac has agreed to pay $ 28 million over four years to LA Clippers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Zubac was bought by the Los Angeles Lakers Clippers at last season's trade deadline, in exchange for Mike Muscala. In 26 games with Los Angeles, all but one, he started, Zubac averaged 9.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

The acquisition of Zubac by the Clippers is broadly considered the theft of the trading deadline given its current capabilities and long-term potential as well as the overall inefficiency of Muscala, despite its theoretical use as a tall man to space the floor. Doc Rivers, for his part, could not believe that a 22-year-old player was available at such a low price, and then publicly praised Zubac's praise afterwards, especially on the defensive side. He always found his way into Rivers' niche during the last part of the regular season and especially during the first round of the series, but the frustration felt during his fights was due more to the inexperience and the Juvenile exuberance than anything else, problems that should disappear at the hour.

Clearly, Los Angeles thinks that Zubac is one of the few centers in the modern NBA to possess the two-way abilities allowing it to carve out a place of choice for a standing champion candidate. Showl Harrell will probably have more playing time than Zubac and will close most games, but by bringing in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the Clippers have embarked on a legitimate fight for the near future. And just a few months of trading against a mate, Zubac is about to play a lasting role in this reality.
