Larry Elder is the victim of a hate crime – this is how the LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva watches a woman’s attempt to push the gubernatorial candidate, and he calls politicians “awake” about the incident.
Villanueva took to the Sheriff’s Department’s Twitter account to talk about Wednesday’s campaign incident… wondering aloud how this isn’t a hate crime?
QUESTION: How is that not a hate crime?
ANSWER: Because the “wake-up privilege” means that a white woman can wear a gorilla mask and attack a black man without fear of being called a racist.

If you missed it, Elder – the conservative radio host turned nominee – was in Venice Beach when a white woman wearing a pink haired gorilla mask threw the egg (she missed it) and kicked it one of Elder’s security personnel.
The sheriff answered his own question by tweeting … “The wake-up privilege means that a white woman can wear a gorilla mask and attack a black man without fear of being called a racist.”
He also wondered mockingly why not all normally outraged politicians stood up for Elder.
Villanueva clearly thinks this is hypocrisy, and there is no outrage just because Elder is a conservative, who is also the leading Republican candidate in the California recall election.
As we reported, someone also shot with a pellet gun Wednesday, hitting one of Elder’s staff. No one was hurt, but the cops are looking for this suspect as well as the egg thrower and a bald man… also seen hitting one of Elder’s staff.

We spoke to Elder at his next stop, and he attributed the incident to people angry at the homeless situation. He also shaded Newsom.
It’s a campaign, after all… and it’s getting nasty with the LA County Sheriff now inserting himself into the drama as Tuesday’s election deadline approaches.
