Fired Keystone XL pipeline workers in Fouke, Ark., Blasted President Biden’s order to cancel the project.
“My husband and I were both going to be able to work on the keystone,” Valerie Knight told Fox News. “This was going to be my first job as an assistant after having our baby boy.”
That opportunity was “completely taken away by a signing,” Knight said.

Labor groups said Biden’s first-day decision to cut the Keystone pipeline quickly wiped out 1,000 union jobs and could kill 10 times as many in construction jobs expected to be created by the project.

Biden has pledged to create new “well-paying union jobs” through investments in green energy infrastructure projects, but Arkansas workers say changing trades would mean “starting over.”
“My husband spent many, many hours practicing to become a welder,” Knight said. “So that we could turn around and get into a different trade completely, we would start over.”
The leader of one of America’s foremost unions, in an interview on Sunday, criticized Biden’s decision to derail the Keystone XL pipeline project on his first day in office.

“I wish he hadn’t done it on day one,” AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka told “Axios on HBO.” “It has cost us and will cost us jobs in the process. I would have liked him to relate that more carefully to what he did next by saying, “This is where we are creating jobs.
Mindy Seyler, the wife of a laid-off Keystone XL employee, echoed Trumka’s sentiment in an interview with Fox News.
“Our youngest daughter is a junior in high school, and she’s supposed to go to college too, and I don’t know how I’m going to pay for that,” Seyler said. “I have no idea.”
A pump station employee who worked on the Keystone XL in Nebraska said he was fired right after Biden signed the executive order. He told Fox News that “the best stimulus they could do for this country right now is to keep people working.”

“It’s hard to plan when you have an administration that is trying to crush your future,” he said.
