Lake Bell revealed that she had turned to drugs after a traumatic birthing experience at home.
The 40-year-old actress recently told the story of her birth at home. Her daughter, Nova, and her son, Ozzy, were born with the umbilical cord wrapped around their necks and are unable to breathe. While Nova was recovering quickly, Ozzy had to be transported to the NICU.
It's after this second scare that Bell has stopped feeling like such.
"I was as if I needed something, I can not be a person. I do not know how … I had never felt that before, "she said Wednesday in the episode" The conversation with Amanda De Cadenet ". like, I felt it. I know what it is and it is a monster. It's a demon.
It was at this point that the star decided that medicine could help.
"I took a medicine called Zoloft, a very low dose and it was again a person who was afraid of Advil, and I begged for my well being and that from my family … and that brought me to a place where I could be. I could just be, she said. "It was rational. I just needed to be Lake and I finally felt that I could breathe the air that Lake breathed, and not like another person I do not recognize. "
The actress was on antidepressant for about a year before fading.
While Bell was still in the "organic lifestyle of King Kumbaya", she told her story because she wanted to destigmatize the use of drugs while seeking the professional help of therapists.
"I think parents are really together," she said.
Bell hosted Ozzy in June 2017 and Nova in 2014, a year after her marriage to tattoo artist Scott Campbell in 2013.
