LaKeith Stanfield and Tiffany Haddish in talks to star in new Disney Haunted house film with the direction of Justin Simien.

Disney previously adapted the ride in a 2003 film directed by Rob Minkoff and starring Eddie Murphy, which enjoyed moderate box office success. Similar to Pirates of the Caribbean, another theme park ride that became a huge box office hit, executives have always viewed this as a piece of Disney intellectual property recognizable by so many around the world, but also something that may be easier to adapt as a movie compared to other theme park rides.
Stanfield, one of the stars of FX Atlanta, dominated by Daniel Kaluuya in Judas and the Black Messiah, which earned Stanfield a nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He then plays in the elegant western The more they fall, which will be released on Netflix this fall.
Haddish then appears in Nicolas Cage’s meta-film, The unbearable weight of massive talents, which Lionsgate is slated for release in 2022.
