LaKeith Stanfield quickly becomes a major player in Hollywood. the sorry to disturb you star has signed for title and serve as executive producer in Notes of a young black chef, a film adaptation based on the memories of US and Nigerian leader Kwame Onwuachi, 29, who co-wrote with Joshua David Stein. A24 opted for the rights and will finance the feature film with Stephen "Dr" Love.

Randy McKinnon has adapted the screenplay, which follows Onwuachi's childhood trip to the Bronx with an almost unmarried mother, at the opening of a gourmet restaurant in Washington DC at the age of 26.

Onwuachi, who appeared on Bravo Excellent chef, recently won the 2019 James Beard Award for Best Chef of the Year.

A director has not yet been named. Colin Stark will also be executive producer alongside Stanfield.
