The Los Angeles Lakers were supposed to be a team that would one day challenge the Golden State Warriors of the Western Conference after signing LeBron James in the off season.
Instead, they have evolved into a team that can not even remember to bring their own coach on the coach trip after the match.
As David M. Grubb of Crescent City Sports shared on Twitter, the Lakers team bus left without head coach Luke Walton and had to come back after the defeat of 128-115 Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans at Smoothie King Arena:

This is the latest in a series of unfortunate titles for Walton this season. In November, Adrian Wojnarowski and Dave McMenamin ESPN.com reported that the president of the Lakers basketball operations, Magic Johnson, had "admonished" him, so Shams Charania The Athletic and Stadium reported earlier this month that there had been a "stormy scene" between the coach and many veterans after a defeat against the Warriors.

For the moment, Walton is still coaching, and the Lakers remain outside the playoff image, making him the 10th seed in the West. They are 3.5 games behind the Los Angeles Clippers for the eighth seed and two games behind the ninth-seeded Sacramento Kings.
