Kyle Kuzma continued to show off his shot during USA Basketball's 102-86 win over Australia in an exhibition match on Thursday morning. The Los Angeles Lakers striker toppled three of his first four first quarter trios and exploded from the grid with 9 points before finishing with 12 of the bench.
Kuzma did not do much more than that to influence the match. He ended up being one of three players in the US team with a negative plus-minus box (-2) in the competition, but his ability to become hot the moment of the notice seems always be an asset that this team will value, and it's hard not to think that he's at least well presented his cause to be part of the final alignment at the moment the team actually starts the FIBA 2019 World Cup at the beginning of next month.
Kuz finished with 12/2 and a volley on 4-6 shots (including a half-pitch uprising). The shot of C & S looks sweet. The defense in general solid, especially on the ball, had a good time on the switches of Patty Mills. He felt like part of the team.

Overall, Kuz releases a lot of great vibrations in the wings. His great man's help instinct remains rather limited, usually a slow step here. The more he can defend himself on the perimeter, the better and his dams will be particularly good. If he can shoot (and it looks good until now), where he should be.

Kuzma's 3-point shot in the game was also a sight to behold and something that fans of the Lakers should cross fingers will continue at the start of the NBA season. to be fundamentally unstoppable around LeBron James and Anthony Davis if Kuzma shoots like this:
USA Basketball still has some demonstration matches and practice sessions before the start of the 2019 FIBA World Cup on Sunday, September 1st against the Czech Republic in Shanghai, China. The United States team will play the next match against Australia at 9:00 pm. Thursday afternoon before finishing the demonstration match with a match against Canada at 2:30 am on Monday morning. Both games can be watched on NBA TV.
