Lamar Jackson on possibility of getting vaccinated after second COVID fight: “We’ll see”

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has had COVID twice. He has not been vaccinated. He might change his mind.

“I just got off the COVID list,” Jackson told reporters on Monday when asked if he would receive the vaccine, via ESPN.com’s Jamison Hensley. “I have to talk to my team and see what they think about it. Continue to learn as much as I can about this. We will go from there.

When asked if that meant he would get the shot, Jackson replied, “We’ll see. Talk to the doctors. We will see. . . . I think it’s a personal decision. I’ll just keep my feelings for myself and my family. I’m focused on getting better right now. I cannot dwell on this at the moment. . . how everyone is feeling. I’m just trying to get back to the good routine.

Jackson could avoid future extended absences by getting the vaccine. This is true for all players. It is a fundamental question of availability. Players who are vaccinated are more likely to be available. Specifically, they are less likely to suddenly become unavailable due to the result of a test administered daily to each unvaccinated player.
