The Sián is also remarkable in the way it stores and recharges the current. Rather than relying on lithium-ion batteries like most other hybrids and electric vehicles, this car uses supercapacitors three times more powerful than batteries of the same weight and three times lighter than batteries of equivalent power. This approach not only reduces the total weight, but also allows storage to be fully loaded with each braking. You should not have to worry about losing that hybrid boost when you finish a lap on the track.
The design has its roots in the Terzo Millennio concept from 2017, including a handful of design clues (such as Y-shaped headlights) and supercapacitor storage, although it's not a pure EV and omits particularly exotic elements such as self-healing carbon fiber.
There is only one problem with the Sián, apart from its probably astronomical price (but not specified): it is already spoken. Lamborghini manufactures only 63 units, all of which have been sold. Although it is one of honest production hybrid, it is more a glimpse of Lamborghini's long-term strategy than anything else. There is not much choice. With Europe and other regions demanding stricter targets for emissions and fuel economy, the brand will find it hard to rely solely on monster gasoline engines – and not can not rely on VW's electric cars to compensate.
