Lana Del Rey defends album cover: “There are colored people on this”

Lana del rey reflects on her recent album cover.

The singer took to Instagram on Sunday January 10 and shared the illustration for her highly anticipated upcoming album. Chemtrails on the Country Club.

“There is always turmoil and upheaval and in the midst of it – there is always great music too,” she captioned the post. “presenting my new chemtrails album on the country club.”

Shortly after revealing the cover image which shows the star and a group of women gathered around an outside table, Lana added a comment apparently defending the photo against possible criticism.

“I also mean that with everything happening this year!” the 35-year-old Grammy-nominated performer wrote. “And no, that was not planned – these are my best friends, since you ask for them today. And damn! As it happens when it comes to my amazing friends and this cover yes there are people color on that record photo and that’s all I’m going to say about it but thanks. “

She went on to name a few of the women who appear on the cover with her, calling the group a “nice mix of everything.”
