Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, is keeping open the possibility of running for a seat in the North Carolina Senate in 2022.
On Wednesday night, she told Americans to “stay tuned” to her decision. His comments came about a week and a half after Republican Senator from South Carolina Lindsey Graham expressed support for his candidacy, calling him the ‘future’ of the GOP
Lara Trump commented on Fox News’ Hannity, after host Sean Hannity asked if she would show up for the seat.
After Hannah noted that Lara Trump’s name was often mentioned as a possible candidate for 2022, he went on to say that the state’s top Republican leaders were trying to support her possible candidacy. “Is this something that you would leave open for now, no questions asked, just leave the idea open in your mind?” He asked.
“Oh absolutely,” Lara Trump replied. “Look, I took it very seriously and I have no decision to announce live here on Sean Hannity tonight. But I’m going to tell you, stay tuned, because it’s definitely something that I would be honored to do. So I’m keeping it open. Absolutely. “

Graham is one of the Republicans backing Lara Trump’s possible candidacy. In an interview with Fox News on February 14, Graham said that if she came forward, “I will definitely be behind her because she represents the future of the Republican Party.”
“My dear friend (current Republican Senator from North Carolina) Richard Burr, whom I love and have been friends with for a long time, has just made Lara Trump almost the certain candidate for the Senate seat in North Carolina to replace him if she presents herself, “he added.
Hannity also asked Lara Trump about the possibility of running for the seat when she appeared on her show on December 9, 2020.
At the time, a BUSR / UNLV Lee Business School poll showed Lara Trump as the preferred candidate among other Republican candidates for the 2022 North Carolina Senate. The poll showed it with 24 percent support from voters in the state. Former Republican state governor Pat McCrory only got 23%. Another 39 percent of respondents said they did not know who they would support.
“I’m so flattered, I’m so honored,” Lara Trump said on the Hannity show at the time. “I am honored to represent this state. We will see. I am open to anything.”
During the remainder of Lara Trump’s appearance at Hannity on Wednesday night, she discussed Donald Trump’s upcoming speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). CPAC describes itself as “the largest and most influential gathering of conservatives in the world.”
This year’s CPAC conference will feature seven talks on ‘protecting elections’ as Donald Trump, the event’s keynote speaker, continues to baselessly claim he won the 2020 presidential election.
Lara Trump said she expected ex-President CPAC’s speech to criticize Democratic President Joe Biden’s foreign policy toward Iran, China, and his U.S. reinstatement in the Bets on the climate. She also expects Donald Trump to criticize Biden’s plan to provide an eight-year path to citizenship for the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the United States.
CPAC will also be holding several sessions on “cancellation”. The theme of the conference this year is “American Uncanceled”.
The CPAC conference recently canceled one of its own speakers, an online commentator and cultural critic named Young Pharaoh. The conference canceled her appearance on her past comments pushing anti-Semitism and conspiracy theories.
