Larry King was hospitalized last week for suffering from angina pectoris or chest pain. He underwent angioplasty, but did not have a heart attack or cardiac arrest, contrary to what was said before.

In a statement issued Monday afternoon by King's production studio, Ora TV, it was confirmed that King was still hospitalized, but all questions regarding his health issues were cleared up.

"On the morning of Thursday, April 23, Larry King was scheduled for angioplasty, before the scheduled surgery, he had angina pectoris and went to the hospital early for examination", read in the release. "His doctor managed angioplasty and inserted stents to reopen the previous bypass of 1987. He is recovering at the hospital and should be released shortly."

"His doctors are waiting for him to recover completely," the statement said. "To be clear, and contrary to published information, his doctors say that he did not have a heart attack and that he did not go into cardiac arrest."

"Larry is in a good mood and thanks everyone for his concern," the statement said. "He should be back to work on his series," Larry King Now "and" PoliticKING and Larry King "soon."
