At this point we have probably seen enough Pixel 4 to bring you a full review. That said, a new leak allowed us to take a closer look at the new Pixel 4 Assistant user interface, Pixel themes, and the new Face Unlock configuration in action.
This leak is courtesy of Genk.vn (via Android fontand confirms a ton of other information we've seen throughout the tidal wave of leaks and videos this week.
In Hanoi, a retailer would already sell almost complete appliance samples right off the production line. This is probably the reason why we see so many leaks from Vietnam this year than by Ukraine and Russia as with the Pixel 3. This is logical since Google has relocated the production of China to Vietnam – even though we thought we would start with pixel 3a.
The new user interface appears to be significantly reduced on this Pixel 4 model, with the larger popup window being removed in favor of a more minimal pop-up window occupying a much smaller portion of the lower half of the screen. It's unclear if this will come with older Pixel models with an update.
We also have a much more detailed overview of the new Pixel Themes screens, camera settings, flip flop display and a few other items here and there. Obviously, the novelty title is the procedure for setting up the brand new Face Unlock mode.
Pixel Themes seems to give you more control over the appearance of your device, with combinations of text and icons to choose from. The Pixel Themes application offers four predefined options: Default, Pencil, Collage and Ash. This extends the Theming options included in the Android 10 developer settings.
Update: Oh look, another leak! Another handy video clearly introduced the new Pixel themes and showed us the new front camera quality. Check below.
Genk also shows us the new face unlocking mode in action on Pixel 4. It replicates the same configuration procedure as found on the iPhone X and requires you to rotate your face to get a similar portrait in order to secure the unlocking and, hopefully, secure payments. Check out the pretty little gif below to see it in action.
Although we have already seen most of the specifications, this leak also confirms all the internal specifications already seen – in case you missed it first, second and third time.
At this point, there is not much left to leak, but we will not fail to sift and give you all the necessary details if the deluge of Pixel 4 info continues to be fed drip by Far East.
